We were asked to develop the brand for a new business venture. Which would be incorporated into a new website once the final design had been approved. The client was supplied with a range of styles and colour schemes so they could canvas friends, family and colleagues for feedback. An important step making this choice.

Our instinct for which design will be chosen is usually very good, we always have our favourite though! We pride ourselves on our graphic design skills and the ability to translate our ideas to any format or media. By way of an example; this client required the rapid production of some vehicle livery which involved printing their chosen logo onto vinyl. We managed all the aspects of this from printing the design to the fitting on behalf of the client.

Our business thrives on recommendations from our existing clients. We thoroughly enjoy what we do and that shows in the work we produce.

Case Study – Podgy Paws

When e-IGNiTION was commissioned to further develop this site, we knew it already had lots of great content that did well in helping it rank effectively for local pet related searches. They have a passion for canines and one of the ways this has manifested itself is in an online ‘Dog Friendly Guide‘ to the local area. Listing everything you could possibly want to know when visiting with your four legged friend. There was also a small shop or e-commerce capability.

As this site had evolved over a period of time much like most small business’ web presence. The e-commerce solution was clearly not capable of scaling up in an effective manner when both cost and time were considered. The site was also not making the best use of the latest Search Engine Optimisation principals for the shop content.

By migrating to a new purpose built e-commerce platform we were able to create a fresh look while maintaining their branding. The key aims were to reduce the management time and increase their visibility on the web. This was to affect both the shop and ‘Dog Friendly’ elements so that they could confidently update content themselves with little outside assistance. In making such fundamental changes we managed the transition so that we did not lose any existing searches that they ranked well for. The new system would ensure that all the shop content was viewed by search engines in the most effective manner, guaranteeing to get all the items in the shop visible on the web. This then dramatically broadened the range of terms they can be found with on the Internet and over the longer term these can be analysed and fine tuning carried out where competition is tough.

The e-commerce platform is incredibly user friendly considering how powerful and configurable it is. The features are too numerous to go through here but the main area that our client raved about was the Order Management capability. With multiple people able to manage the orders by tagging them with updates was very important so everyone knew what had been completed. Simple changes of status would not have allowed this level of freedom when managing the orders.

Take a look at the site and see what you think. If you have a dog you may find something useful there too!

e-Ignition have recently released the all-new website for Keswick Mountain Festival, a major annual festival for outdoor adventure ethusiasts. Click here for more information.

Case Study – Keswick Mountain Festival

e-IGNiTION was originally invited to tender for the work to completely redesign the website for the Keswick Mountain Festival, and annual festival for outdoor adventure enthusiasts held in May in the Lake District.

Competing against a number of web design companies based in the North West and beyond, e-IGNiTION was selected to design a new site from first principles. The KMF team was looking for a site that would convey the adventurous spirit of the festival and its participants, and would give users the opportunity to have a look at previous years’ multimedia and sign up for latest news prior to the festival. KMF was also looking for a bespoke online availability and booking system, with online secure payment, for over 750 separate activities taking place over the 5 day festival.

Phase 1 of the website was delivered to KMF in October 2008 which gave them an easy to use Content Management System to publish content and news articles. From here the Festival could be marketed and people register their interest.

Phase 2 was to publish an online directory covering all the activities that are available during the Festival. We also linked this to the providers of these activities and any sponsors that got involved. This phase pulled together all the aspects of the Festival and it has really made the site useful and informative for visitors.

The final phase went live with the activity booking system going online. This was the final piece of the puzzle, allowing people to add activities to their basket and then proceed to the pay through Google Checkout.

All this, well in time for the start of the Festival.

Having designed and published the award-winning Archipelago Cape Verde website in 2007, the e-Ignition Team was commissioned to develop the Pay Per Click campaign and work on SEO to achieve higher organic rankings for the company. Click here to find out more.

Case Study – Archipelago Cape Verde

In 2007, e-IGNiTION was commissioned to develop an innovative website for Archipelago Cape Verde (ACV), who operate tailored ethical adventure holidays to the Atlantic island chain. Building on the exclusive and sustainable themes that the company holds dear, we produced an innovative design concept that translated throughout the site. Using Flash imagery in a considered way, we built interactive archipelago islands and integrated dynamic icons for information on Cape Verde, holidays, hotels, flights and activities. The site was since shortlisted for a Travelmole 2008 Award for Best Tour Operator Site, and has proved to be extremely popular with the Company and its customers.

In an effort to drive an increased number of visitors to and conversions from the site, ACV had embarked on a Google Adwords Campaign. Concerned that this Pay Per Click (PPC) Campaign was neither economically sustainable, nor as effective as it might be in driving visitor conversions, e-IGNiTION’s Search Engine Marketing team was brought in to work on the existing online marketing strategy and begin work to integrate the company’s strategy with its online presence.

Since we became involved, we have significantly increased clicks and conversions on the Adwords Campaign, however, we now believe that the best approach for ACV is to improve their organic rankings through a targeted Search Engine Optimisation implementation. Using analytics tools to review existing site traffic and the routes that users are taking around the website, we have already started to work on the site layout and content to improve search engine rankings and user conversions.

An effort is being made to assist the client in their link building back to the site. The initial work has identified the relevant directory sites for their business and also those sites hosting backlinks for their competition. From here a cohesive plan for the coming months can be built.

Case Study – Simply Good Taste

Great attention was paid to the look of this site. We were tasked with the requirement of conveying the atmosphere of the Good Taste café in Keswick. The core business is the Lake District café but there were some other areas of the business that also needed attention through the website. The Cookery School and Studio Dining experiences have been driven through the site too. But there also book launches and a wide and varied range of Outside Catering challenges to cover.

The branding and design elements implemented on this site have proved very popular amongst visitors to both the café and site. This emphasis on a strong visual design has been a success and has resulted in it being used in all publicity and marketing activities since. All proofs for any traditional print media were supplied by us direct to the printers (we have established contacts in this area if required). Their newsletter templates were built around the design too, we handle all our mass mailing services in house.

A particularly successful element of this site is the selection of podcasts. The MP4 formatted content is hosted on the site and we have then made it available to the iTunes catalogue through the submission of the podcast details to allow categorisation and an effective listing. They have helped to generate significant interest in the Simply Good Taste brand. Media sharing sites such as YouTube and Blip.tv are also used and are an ever growing source of traffic (these are a part of the wider phenomenon of social networking sites).

Recently we have started providing an extra monthly support service to this site; we are now providing Search Engine Optimisation for their key business areas. But more urgently we are providing a content proof reading service to make sure it is well written for both visitors and search engine indexes. This will be a continuous task but it will take us some months to bring the current content up to scratch.
